Witt Named NCAA Southeast Regional Track Athlete of the Year; Williamson Honored as Assistant Coach of the Year

Hannah Witt: Women's Southeast Regional Indoor Track Athlete of the Year
Hannah Witt earned another accolade this week, claiming the title of the Women's Southeast Regional Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Year. Hannah had an outstanding indoor season setting multiple school and personal records. Hannah hit the NCAA Division II Indoor provisional national qualifying mark in the 5,000m run, setting a school record and personal record of 17:27.23. She also set two more personal records in the 3,000m run, with a time of 10:17.34, and in the mile, with a time of 5:15.15.
                At the inaugural Conference Carolina's Indoor Championship, Hannah claimed two individual conference titles in the 5,000m and 3,000m runs, and a runner-up title in the mile. She scored a total of 28 points individually to help catapult the women's team to a Conference Carolina's Championship title. Her 28 points also earned her the Conference Carolina's Track Athlete of the Year.
 
Peter Dalton: Women's Southeast Regional Indoor Head Coach of the Year
                Peter Dalton has been named the Women's Southeast Regional Indoor Head Coach of the Year for the 2012-2013 season. At the inaugural Conference Carolina's Indoor Championship, Dalton led both teams to their first conference titles. Dalton's regional award goes along with his two Conference Carolina's Coach of the Year honors. These two Conference Carolina's Coach of the Year awards are added to his previous Women's Cross Country Conference Carolina's Coach of the Year award for the 2012 season.
 
Amanda Williamson: Men's Southeast Regional Indoor Assistant Coach of the Year
                Amanda Williamson was named the Men's Southeast Regional Indoor Assistant Coach of the Year this week for the 2012-2013 season. This is her third season as the Men's and Women's assistant track and field coach. She helped lead the men and women's teams to their first Conference Carolina's Indoor Championship title. Amanda played a major role during the indoor season with the majority of her athlete's setting new personal records. Amanda was also a part of the men's and women's cross country coaching staff this past season. The women won the Conference Carolina's title, and the men progressed on to the NCAA DII Cross Country National Championship meet.
