BRISTOL, Tenn. – After a very successful senior season, King University's Hannah Witt has another award to add to her mantle. Witt was named Conference Carolinas Spring Scholar Athlete of the Year for women's track and field.
The Mountain City, Tenn., native had a remarkable senior year for the Tornado both on and off of the track. She won the 5,000 meters at the Conference Carolinas Track and Field Championships. Witt also set personal and school records in the 5,000 and 10,000 meters with 17:26 and 36:19, respectively. The senior led King University to the capturing the Conference Carolinas Outdoor Track and Field Championship. Witt is Human Biology major with a 3.96 GPA. She was a provisional qualifier for the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championship, but fell just short of qualifying.
This marks the second Conference Carolinas Scholar Athlete of the Year award Witt earned this season as she was also named the Winter Scholar Athlete for indoor track and field. She was also named King University's Female Athlete of the Year.
