King collects food for local organization

BRISTOL, Tenn. - The King College women's volleyball team collected over 300 food items as a part of the 2010 NCCAA Mid-East Region Tournament over the past weekend.

All donated food will be taken to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Northeast Tennessee. Fans brought many items such as cereal, peanut butter, canned meats, canned soups, canned fruit & vegetables, boxed meals and macaroni & cheese.

Last year, across the NCCAA, over seven tons of food was distributed to various organizations.

King finished the event second at the region tournament, but the team will play at the NCCAA National Tournament Dec. 2-4 as an at large team.
