Harding on 2010 AVCA-NCCAA Division I All-American squad

LEXINGTON, Ky. - King College's Rachel Harding was placed on the 2010 American Volleyball Coaches Association NCCAA Division I Women's Volleyball All-American Team, the NCCAA released Wednesday.

Harding, a senior defensive specialist from Abingdon, Va., ended the season with 697 digs in 153 sets for an average of 4.56. She also served a team-high 66 aces this season. Harding was credited with 26 digs and four kills.

In cooperation with its relationship with the NCCAA, the AVCA will award an All-America Team for both NCCAA Divisions I and II.

This year's team honors 14 student-athletes: seven seniors, five juniors, one redshirt-sophomore and one freshman. Five of the lauded individuals are outside hitters, while four middle blockers, three setters, one setter/hitter and one libero also earned distinction. In addition, three student-athletes are making their second consecutive appearance as an AVCA NCCAA Division I All-America selection: Jackie Albrecht of Mount Vernon Nazarene University, Jennifer Gahagan of Malone University and Brittani Toole of Southwestern Assemblies of God University.

King ended the season with a 32-11 record and reached the NCCAA National Tournament, but fell short of playing in the semifinals.
