GREENVILLE, S.C. - King College landed at No. 5 in the first edition of the NCCAA Division I Women's Volleyball Burbridge Rating, the organization announced.
The Lady Tornado, with an 8-1 record when last the report was submitted, had a Burbridge of 6.11. King and Geneva (Pa.) College both shared the same rating. Atop the rating was Mt. Vernon Nazarene (Ohio) University at 7.21 with a 13-1 record. Malone (Ohio) University was No. 2 at 6.77 thanks to a 13-0 record followed by Campbellsville (Ky.) University's 6.50. Southern Wesleyan (S.C.) University held the No. 4 spot with a 6.43 rating.
King won the only match of the week, a 3-0 sweep of UVa-Wise on Tuesday to improve to 9-1 behind a six match winning streak.
When it came to teams from the Mid-East Region, King was only behind Campbellsville. Asbury (Ky.) College was just outside the Top-10 at No. 12 with Bluefield (Va.) College at No. 23.
Next for King will be a home contest with Tusculum (Tenn.) College Tuesday at 7 p.m.
The next NCCAA Volleyball Burbridge Rating will be released Tuesday.
