Last year's Conference Carolinas Tournament participants will begin the year at the Fairmont State Tournament on August 31 for a two-day stay before jumping into regional play in their home opener against Milligan College on Sept. 4 at 7 p.m. The Lady Tornado will play a trio of South Athletic Conference schools in Armstrong Atlantic, Francis Marion, and Lincoln Memorial at the Carson-Newman Tournament on Sept. 7-8 before returning home and taking on the defending Conference Carolinas Champion Lees-McRae Bobcats at the Student Center Complex on Sept. 12.

King will engage in a four-game home stand spanning seven days beginning on Sept. 18 against state line rival Virginia Intermont, followed by conference matches with Pfeiffer University and Queens University of Charlotte. The Lady Tornado's match against the Royals also marks the start of the day's tri-match that involves Lander College who King will face later that evening.

The heart of the Conference Carolinas schedule approaches on Oct. 9 with a home match against Barton College prior to a five-match road trip that begins in Mount Olive, N.C. on Oct. 13. Following rematches with NGU, Lees-McRae, Converse, and Erskine on the road the Lady Tornado will host their second tri-match with the University of Montevallo and Concord College to close out the month of October. The team will then finish the regular season with two home matches and saving Senior Day for Nov. 2 against Limestone College.

The Conference Carolinas Women's Volleyball Tournament will be held Nov. 10-17 with three rounds to determine the tournament champion. Seeding and host sites will be determined by regular season conference record.

In 2011 the Lady Tornado advanced to the Conference Carolinas Tournament in its first season competing in the league and made a splash in the tournament with a come-from-behind, five-set victory on the road against Mount Olive. Down 2-0, King return with three straight set victories including a fifth set win that required extra points to decide the match. That win marked King's first Conference Carolinas postseason victory since joining the conference as a full member.

The Lady Tornado finished the year 23-13 overall and 13-5 in Conference Carolinas play while housing three All-Conference selections and one All-Tournament Team selection at year's end. From Oct. 14 on, King won 12 of its last 14 matches and six of those in three-game shut outs.
