BRISTOL, Tenn. – King University's Summer Kremer earned Player of the Week honors from the Tennessee Sportswriters Association after posting 47 kills and averaging 3.92 kills per set in three victories. Kremer also posted a .300 attack percentage a week ago, including a blistering .500 clip against Pfeiffer University on Saturday.
The Mill City, N.C., native registered 14 kills and five digs in a 3-2 victory at UVa-Wise and followed that with 20 kills and eight digs in a 3-1 Conference Carolinas win against Belmont Abbey. The junior outside hitter added 13 kills in a sweep of Pfeiffer.
Kremer leads the Tornado, and Conference Carolinas with 142 kills this season and 3.23 kills per set. The junior also ranks fifth in the league with a .274 attack percentage.
King is currently on an eight-match winning streak, and the Tornado host Concord University on Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m., at the Student Center Complex. The Tornado then resumes Conference Carolinas play when they travel to Erskine College and North Greenville University on Friday and Saturday.
