BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University women's wrestling team may be in their "offseason", but many wrestlers have been competing in events across the world since their season with the Tornado ended. Following success at these competitions, Sarah Hildebrandt and Julia Salata were ranked at their respective weight classes in the latest FILA Women's Freestyle World Rankings.
Hildebrandt, a sophomore from Granger, Ind., was ranked seventh in the 55 kilogram weight class. Earlier this year, Hildebrandt took home a pair of gold medals, first at the Senior Pan American Championships, and again at the Austria Open. Hildebrandt is one of two Americans to be ranked in the top-15 of 55 kilogram weight class.
A native of Canton, Mich., Salata is ranked eighth in the 67 kilogram weight class. The sophomore earned a bronze medal at the Senior Pan American Championships, and followed that with silver at the Austria Open. Salata is the highest ranked of two Americans that were named in the top-15 at the 67 kilogram weight class.
