COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Fresh off the first national championship in program history, members of the King University women's wrestling team traveled to the Dave Schultz Memorial International Tournament to wrestle against elite competition from around the world.
Alli Ragan and Amanda Hendey both reached the semifinal rounds of their respective weight classes before suffering their first loss of the event. Hendey fell to Marianna Satsin of Hungary to finish fourth in the 60 kilogram weight class, while Ragan lost in the 58 kilogram consolation semifinals to Canadian Michelle Fazzari.
At 55 kilograms, Megan Black was defeated by Aizhan Ismagulova, who hails from Kazakhstan. She eventually reached the consolation semifinal round before falling to Jillian Gallays of Canada.
After winning the WCWA College Nationals last weekend, the Tornado will enjoy a well-deserved break before returning to competition on March 29 at the University Nationals in Oklahoma City, Okla.
