    BRISTOL, Tenn. – Hannah Witt added yet another award to her mantle last week when the Capital One Academic All-American Track and Field/Cross Country team was announced. Witt was selected to the Capital Academic All-America second team a season after garnering third team recognition.

    BRISTOL, Tenn. – Hannah Witt continues to accumulate accolades, even after her time rewriting the King University women’s cross country record book is through. On Monday, Witt was named one of two Conference Carolinas nominees for the NCAA Woman of the Year Award. The NCAA Woman of the Year Award recognizes excellence in leadership, athletics, academics and service. Seniors who completed their final year of athletic eligibility are eligible for the award.
  • Witt, Henry garner Capital One Academic All-District honors

    BRISTOL, Tenn. – Following the completion of her career, King University women’s cross country runner Hannah Witt continues to win awards, recently being named Capital One Academic All-District for the second consecutive year. She was joined on the team by track and field star, Maegan Henry who earns the honor for the first time.

    BRISTOL, Tenn. – Kendra Sokol has been selected as the Conference Carolinas Women’s Cross Country Academic Athlete of the Year for the 2013 season. Sokol had a stellar senior season for the Tornado, helping lead King to their second consecutive Conference Carolinas title.

    SPOKANE, Wash. – Representing the King University women’s cross country team, senior Tornado runner Hannah Witt turned in an impressive performance in her final race in a king uniform at the NCAA Division II Championships in Spokane, Wash. on Saturday, finishing in the 50th position.
  • Witt represents Tornado NCAA Championships

    BRISTOL, Tenn. – For the second consecutive season, the King University men’s cross country team will travel to the NCAA Championships to compete for a national title. With four All-Region performers and a second-place finish at the NCAA Region Championship on November 9, the Tornado will look to improve upon last year’s 27th-place result at the national meet in Spokane, Wash on Saturday. In the women’s race, the Tornado will be represented by senior Hannah Witt.

Six King University student-athletes were named to the squads, the second-most in the conference behind North Greenville University’s seven.

    BRISTOL, Tenn. – On Wednesday when Conference Carolinas announced their weekly awards, three King University student-athletes were honored. Both Hannah Witt and Spencer Frantom won the awards for cross country while Elizabeth Swallow took home the women’s golf award.

    CHARLOTTE, N.C. – On Friday afternoon, the King University women’s cross country team turned in one of their best performances of the season as each of King’s top-5 runners set personal records at the Royal Cross Country Challenge. For the second week in a row, Hannah Witt set a new school record, leading the Tornado to a sixth place finish in a meet that had 45 teams.
