Faculty/Staff Appreciation Night Set for Thursday Basketball Games

BRISTOL, Tenn. – King College Athletics has announced that Thursday night (Feb. 2) basketball will help honor those that make the College as strong as it is with its annual Faculty/Staff Appreciation Night. Free food and beverages for King students, staff and faculty in attendance will be provided and a special contest will be hosted for one lucky pair of child and one of his or her parent.

King educates more than 2,100 students per year with the help of a dedicated and supportive faculty base that totals over 160 full and part-time members and enjoys a student-to-faculty ratio of 15:1. Complementing the classroom atmosphere, the devoted staff continually helps build and enhance the ambiance that the College provides those students, as well as one another.

Thursday night is your opportunity to show your support and thanks toward the job these individuals do on a daily basis, as well as help us honor this year’s Outstanding Professor of the Year award winner.

To accompany the celebration of those that make King so spectacular, Tornado Athletics will offer a spread of pizza and soft drinks for all faculty, staff, and their families on the mezzanine of the Student Center Complex during the night’s games.

There will be an opportunity to win a $50.00 gift certificate for Fun Expedition, located in Johnson City. Two lucky parent-child groups will be selected by a drawing to participate in a halftime free throw contest to win the gift certificate. Participants must be in attendance of the women’s basketball game versus North Greenville (5:30 p.m.) and register before the end of halftime for that game. The two families will be drawn and called on to compete during halftime of the men’s game.

The King Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) will be sponsoring Make-A-Wish Night where they will be selling t-shirts to help raise money for The Foundation. Shirts will be sold for $3.00 each for students and $5.00 for the public. Prizes will be given to those groups or individuals who donate the most toward the cause.

Both basketball teams will host North Greenville University that night with the women’s kicking off the doubleheader at 5:30 p.m. at the Student Center. The men will follow with a tentative 7:30 p.m. tipoff.
