King Athletics Invites You to Community Appreciation Night
Admission will be free to Saturday evening’s women and men’s basketball games for all Bristol, TN/VA and TriCities residents.

BRISTOL, Tenn. – In gratitude for its constant support for all 25 Tornado athletic programs, King Athletics will hold Community Appreciation Night this Saturday, Jan. 12. All residents of Bristol, Tennessee and Virginia plus the entire TriCities are invited to the Student Center Complex for King’s men’s and women’s basketball doubleheader against Pfeiffer. Admission will be free of charge for those residing in the area.

Join the Tornado as they host the Pfeiffer Falcons for a basketball doubleheader beginning at 5:30 p.m. The Lady Tornado (6-4, 2-4) come into Saturday riding a 63-47 victory over Erskine while the men’s team is currently ranked No. 22 in NCAA Division II by the NABC and are atop the Conference Carolinas standings.

Admission for all TriCities residents will be free of charge and all are invited to compete for a $50 gift card to a local restaurant. Two lucky sets of parents and their children will be selected from the crowd to play “Hot Spots” during halftime of the men’s basketball game. The first parent-child combo to complete the five-shot sequence will win the gift card!

The Lady Tornado tip off against the Falcons at 5:30 p.m. and the men will follow, tentatively at 7:30 p.m. All King students (including GPS students and their families), faculty, and staff members can attend this weekend’s doubleheader and all King Tornado athletic events free of charge by presenting a valid King ID.

Live video and statistics will be provided for both games. Follow both basketball teams and all 25 King athletic programs online at, via Twitter (@kingcollegetn, @KingGasserSID, #KingTornado), or ‘like’ King College on Facebook.
