King defeats Erskine 6-3 behind 3 singles wins

DUE WEST, S.C. – The King University men's tennis team returned to the court for the second time in less than 24 hours against Erskine College. The Tornado was victorious over the Flying Fleet winning three singles matches and two doubles.

Erskine (0-3, 0-2 CC) started the day off by taking the No. 1 doubles 8-0 to take the lead. The Tornado duo of Moritz Poswiat and Luis Delgado took No. 2 doubles 8-4 to tie the contest up. The King (3-6, 2-1 CC) team of Ankith Madasani and Makar Grytsevych took No. 3 doubles 8-5 to give King the lead heading into the singles matches.

In singles action, Lennard Keswani started things off right for King winning 6-4,1-6, 6-3. Poswiat was defeated in No. 2 singles before Delgado took No. 3 singles 6-0, 6-3. Grytsevych won No. 5 singles 6-3, 6-2 and Madasani finished the winning ways off for the Tornado with a 6-4,6-3 win at No. 6 singles to give King a 6-3 win over the Flying Fleet.

King will be in action again on Friday, March 6 when they travel to the University of Mount Olive. First serve is slated for 1:00 p.m. in Mount Olive, N.C.
