Box Score BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University men's basketball team may have turned in one of their best halves of the season on Saturday afternoon against Southern Wesleyan University. The Tornado closed the first half on a 12-0 run and opened the second stanza with 14 straight points, putting the contest out of reach. King then cruised to the 102-57 lead that saw junior Hunter LeVeau score his 1,000th career point in the second half.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The teams went back-and-forth over the first 16 minutes of the first half. In that time there were 13 lead changes and five ties.
- The Warriors took their largest lead of the game a 14-8 before Calvin Walker got a steal and fed C.J. Good for the fastbreak layup.
- Good then hit a pair of free throws before putting King ahead 15-14 with a triple. The junior then capped his 9-0 run with a two more free throws to give King a three point advantage.
- However, Southern Wesleyan responded and took a 24-20 lead before the teams started to trade buckets.
- Southern Wesleyan gained a 34-32 lead when they hit three free throws with 4:16 remaining.
- At that point the Tornado offense closed the half on a 12-0 run. Hunter LeVeau and Good recorded triples on the run while Walker capped the run with two free throws, giving King a 42-34 lead at halftime.
- The King defense also dug in, not allowing a Warrior field goal over the final 5:25 of the half.
- The Tornado didn't let up in the second half as Mack Owens started the scoring on King's first possession.
- Good and LeVeau then teamed up for back-to-back triples before Owens got back into the action with a layup. Drew Standifer added a fastbreak layup, and Owens capped the 14-0 to start the half with a layup.
- The Tornado held the Warriors without a field goal for nine minutes and 24 seconds as their first field goal of the second half came at the 16:09 mark.
- With 12:56 remaining, Good fed LeVeau in the middle of the paint where hit floater for his 14th point of the night and his 1,000 career point.
- King put the game out of reach with a 16-0 run that gave the Tornado an 84-51 lead with five minute remaining. Good hit three straight shots to start the run, including two triples while Shon'Dre Dukes capped the spurt with a dunk.
- Nathanael Hughes hit three triples down the stretch, giving King their largest lead of the game of 45 as the Tornado took the contest 102-57.
- Good led King with 25 points on 5-for-11 shooting from three-point range.
- LeVeau scored 14 points, grabbed five rebounds and handed out six assists.
- Hughes added 11 points while Standifer, Walker and Dukes chipped in with nine points each.
- Walker added a team-high eight assists, and Dukes led King with six rebounds.
FOR THE FOES
- Darius Sharpe led the Warriors with 25 points while Jemiah Wimphrie added 11 points.
- Wimphrie also added seven rebounds.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- LeVeau, a junior tallied his 1,000th career point in the second half. He also matched a career-high with six assists.
- With 25 points, Good has scored at least 20 points in each of the last four contests. He has reached the 20-point plateau seven times this season.
- Hughes set a career-high with 11 points.
