Box Score BOONE, N.C. – The King University men's volleyball team continued Conference Carolinas play on the road Friday night at Barton College. The Bulldogs took a narrow first set before taking the final two frames for the 3-0 victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Trailing 7-4, the King offense scored 11 of the next 14 points to take a 15-10 lead in the first set. Jeff Sprayberry registered an ace at the beginning of the spurt and Nick Drooker added another near the end. Matthew Lychock registered a pair of kills on the run.
- King held a 24-21 lead at the end of the first set, but Barton scored five straight points to take the set 26-24.
- The Bulldogs used that momentum, opening up a 10-4 lead in the second set.
- The Tornado got back within 11-8, but Barton went on a 9-2 run, opening up a 20-10 lead as they took the set 25-16.
- Barton scored the first three points of the third set and opening up a 10-4 advantage.
- From there the Bulldogs went on to take the set 25-15, winning the match 3-0.
- Sean Luhmann led the Tornado with eight kills, Sprayberry followed with six.
- Drooker handed out 23 assists and Besson led King with four assists to go along with five kills.
FOR THE FOES
- Aleksa Brkovic and Vasilis Mandilaris led Barton with nine kills each.
- Pierre Tang-Taye followed with eight kills.
- Federico Pagliar posted a double-double with 31 assists and 10 kills.
- Kekaulike Alameda posted a match-high 13 digs.
UP NEXT
- King will be in action again Saturday when they stay on the road to take on the University of Mount Olive. First serve is slated for 2:00 p.m.
- Barton hosts Lees-McRae on Saturday afternoon.
