Box Score 2 GREENWOOD, S.C. – The King University softball had a pair of solid pitching performances on Friday as Casey Gilbert defeat Concord University 2-0. However, the Tornado fell to Lander University 1-0 later in the day.

- Megan Puckett and Sydney Bailey drove in runs for the Tornado.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS - CONCORD
- The Tornado had baserunners in all but one inning, including two in the first, but couldn't push any runs across.
- King stranded a pair again in the third before breaking through in the fourth.
- A sacrifice fly from Bailey scored Erin Foster who reached on a fielder's choice earlier in the inning to put King ahead.
- King tacked on an insurance run as Puckett drove in Nikole Counts with a sacrifice fly.
- In the circle, Casey Gilbert scattered five hits over seven innings, tossing her second shutout in as many starts.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS - LANDER
- Both pitchers started hot, retiring the side in the first inning.
- King threatened with a pair of runners in the second inning, but an Ashley Vinson got the final two outs for Lander.
- Lander had a leadoff single in the second, but Nikole Counts stranded the runner to keep the game scoreless.
- Morgan Watson started a two-out rally with a single in the fourth and stole second.
- She then scored on a Delaney Guerrero single to center.
- King again had two runners on, but again Vinson got the final two outs, keeping King off the scoreboard.
- The Tornado went down in order in the seventh as Lander took the game 1-0.
