King inducts 45 student-athletes into Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society

BRISTOL, Tenn. – King University inducted 45 student-athletes into the Chi Alpha Sigma National Honor Society, which recognized both on and off the field of competition.

Student-athletes that are recognized are juniors or higher, earned a GPA of at least 3.4 and a varsity letter in their sport.

Of the 40 Tornado student-athletes to be recognized, eight are members of the baseball team while the men's volleyball and women's volleyball teams had six members recognized each.

"This is yet another example of our student-athletes excelling in the classroom and demonstrating they are indeed true STUDENT-athletes," director of athletics David Hicks said. "It takes a tremendous amount of talent, time management and dedication to excel in both areas, and we are proud of each of them for their accomplishments."

Chi Alpha Sigma is the first and only nonprofit organization that was established to recognize college student-athletes who excel both on and off the field of competition. Founded in 1996 by then DePauw University head football coach, Nick Mourouzis, Chi Alpha Sigma continues to provide outstanding student-athletes with an opportunity to become connected within a fraternal association that aligns their educational and athletic successes for a lifetime.
