Julie Ford made the most of her season debut this weekend for the King University women's basketball team as she was selected Conference Carolinas Defensive Player of the Week.
Ford helped the Tornado to a pair of wins over Southern Wesleyan University over the weekend. The junior was a force down low, accounting for eight blocked shots and two steals in the contests. Coming off the bench on Friday night, Ford turned away five shots before posting three blocks and two steals in Saturday's victory.
The Tornado are in action again on Tuesday at Erskine College. Tipoff from Due West, S.C. is scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
