CONCORD, N.C. – The King University women's cross country team came up with a runner-up finish at the Conference Carolinas Championship on Friday afternoon.
Meg Davis led the Tornado with a third place finish and was one of three Tornado to earn All-Conference Carolinas honors.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Davis crossed the tape in 20:25.0, finishing in third place and earning first team all-conference honors.
- Katy Neubert garnered second team all-conference honors as she finished ninth with a time of 21:04.7.
- Destiny Haller also earned all-conference honors, finishing 14th with a time of 21:40.8 to garner third team accolades.
- Grayson Howe finished 25th with a time of 22:36.1.
- Finishing in 23:10.8 was Emily Sutherland who finished 29th.
- Andrea Stansberry rounded out the team with a time of 24:57.2 to take 43rd.
FOR THE FOES
- Emmanuel College won the event with all five runners in the top 20.
- King was runner-up with three runners in the top 20 and five in the top 30.
- Lizzie Naval of Erskine College was the individual champion with a time of 19:58.3.
BEYOND THE RESULTS
- Davis, a junior earns all-conference honors for the first time in her career.
- Neubert, a sophomore earns all-conference honors for the second straight season. She garnered third team honors in 2019.
- Haller earned all-conference honors as a freshman.
