BRISTOL, Tenn. – King University women's basketball Interim head coach
Michael Phelps has announced the hiring of
Ashley Knight as an assistant coach.

Ashley Knight comes from one of the top-tier basketball programs in college athletics.
Ashley Knight currently holds the blocking record for the University of Alabama."
"During the interview Ashley knowledge of basketball was very impressive. As a new head coach, I was looking to bring in a talented coach that was looking for an opportunity and express passion for impacting lives off the court as well as on the court," Phelps finished. "I believe Ashley will be a great asset to King University and do a phenomenal job of supporting me, our program, and mentoring our student-athletes. I believe
Ashley Knight has a bright future in coaching."
Knight, a former NCAA Division I athlete at the University of Alabama, comes to the Tornado after graduating in May 2020 with a degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice. While at Alabama, she was a member of the women's basketball team. A two-time member of the SEC Academic Honor Roll, she holds the school record for blocks in a career.
