BRISTOL, Tenn. — The Tornado dropped just their second Conference Carolinas match of the season Wednesday night, falling to Emmanuel 3-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Set
- After Emmanuel jumped out to a 3-0 lead, the Tornado benefited from a service error followed by a Hailee Blankenship kill to make it 3-2.
- Hannah Rogers delivered a service ace to make the score 5-4 before the Lions went on a 4-0 run.
- King went on a run in the middle of the set, scoring four straight points, with Brittney Ramsey delivering a pair of kills before Emmanuel called timeout.
- The Tornado would score three of the final four points of the match, with Georgia Davis recording a pair of service aces.
Second Set
- Emmanuel jumped out to a narrow 10-6 lead in the second set before the Tornado went on a 4-0 run to tie the match at 10. Paula La Mendola served a pair of aces, coupled with a Julie Ward kill.
- The Tornado took a 23-22 lead on back-to-back Ramsey kills, but Emmanuel scored three unanswered points to take the set.
- The Tornado had three service aces during the set, along with 11 kills and a pair of blocks, including a block from Allie Zimmerman and Ramsey that kicked off the last Tornado run.
Third Set
- Set 3 was close in the early part, with the teams trading short runs.
- The Lions started to pull away thanks to a 4-0 run that was halted when the Tornado called timeout.
- Coming out of the timeout, the Tornado picked up a point, then resumed trading points with Emmanuel, but were unable to make a rally.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- This was the third consecutive match that Ramsey recorded at least 10 kills and is the fifth time this season.
- Three Tornado finished with two service aces, including La Mendola, Hannah Rogers and Georgia Davis.
FOR THE FOES
- Aleksandra Hamuda had 14 kills to lead the Lions, along with eight digs.
- Gabrielle McGlamery had 34 set assists along with 15 digs to lead the team in both categories.

- The Tornado have two matches left on this homestand, starting Friday when they host Chowan. They will then turn around and host Barton Saturday afternoon.
- Emmanuel also will be at home later this week, starting Thursday when they host Georgia College.
