Turner selected TSWA Player of the Week

BRISTOL, Tenn. – Following a big weekend for the King University softball team, Carly Turner was selected Tennessee Sports Writers Association (TSWA) Player of the Week. Turner posted eight hits, including five doubles to lead the Tornado to four victories over the weekend.

Turner hit .727 with eight hits, including five doubles while driving in 10. On Saturday she ripped a two-run home run that gave King a 3-1 lead in their game one win over Lees-McRae College. The Springfield, Ohio native then laced five doubles and drove in eight runs in Sunday's sweep of West Virginia State University. In game two she went 4-for-4 with four doubles and six runs batted in. She also scored five runs on the week, including two in Sunday's game two win.

This marks the first time Turner has been selected TSWA Player of the Week.

The Tornado are scheduled to be in action again on Friday at Emmanuel College. First pitch from Franklin Springs, Ga. is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
