BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University men's volleyball team earned a Conference Carolinas win with a sweep of Emmanuel College on Friday night Tornado offense was clicking all night, taking the 3-0 victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Set
- King took a 3-0 lead behind kills from Joshua Kim, Jackson Carroll and Diego Marcano.
- That was all the separation the Tornado need as they gradually extended their lead throughout the set.
- A Douglas Florencio kill stretched the lead to 16-10.
- Emmanuel came back to get within 18-17, but an Aaron Milstead kill sparked a 3-0 King spurt that extended the lead to 21-17.
- King then went on to take the set 25-21.
Second Set
- King gained separation with a 4-0 run in the middle of the set, started by a pair of Marcano kills to take a 16-12 lead.
- King later scored four straight points to take a 22-15 lead as the Tornado took the set 25-18.
Third Set
- The Tornado started the third set on a mission, taking a 6-1 lead behind kills from Milstead, Carroll and Marcano.
- However, Emmanuel scored five straight points and eight-of-nine points to take a 12-9 lead.
- Kim came up with a kill later in the set and a block from Florencio and JT Deppe evened the score.
- Carroll then served up an ace to give King an 18-17 lead and capped the 3-0 spurt.
- King trailed 21-20 before King rolled off four straight points to earn a chance at match point.
- Marcano came up with a kill, giving King the 25-22 victory to take the match 3-0.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Marcano led King with 12 kills and six digs.
- Kim followed with 10 kills and seven digs.
- Deppe handed out 31 assists and added seven digs.
- Noah Melendez led the back row with nine digs.
FOR THE FOES
- Aleksa Lakic led Emmanuel with 14 kills while Don Thompson followed with 13.
- Henrick Westhoff handed out 32 assists.
