JT Deppe of the King University men's volleyball team had a big week for the Tornado last week. The senior was selected Conference Carolinas Specialist of the Week on Monday after he averaged nearly 10 assists per set in three matches.
Deppe handed out 126 assists for an average of 9.69 assists per set to lead the Tornado offense last week. On the defensive end, he added averages of 1.31 digs and 0.46 blocks per set. In the week-opener, Deppe handed out 54 assists and added three digs against Belmont Abbey College. He followed that with 31 assists and seven digs in a win over Emmanuel College before posting 41 assists, seven digs and five blocks against Erskine College.
This marks the second Conference Carolinas Specialist of the Week award for Deppe this season as he was previously honored on March 8.
The Tornado are scheduled to be in action again on Thursday at rival Lees-McRae College at 7:00 p.m.
