Box Score BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University men's volleyball team took their second straight sweep over Lees-McRae College on Tuesday night.
JT Deppe posted a double-double in King's 3-0 victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Set
- Lees-McRae scored the first point of the match, but King came back with 10 straight points, starting by a kill from Joshua Kim.
- He followed that with an ace before a Diego Marcano kill.
- The teams traded 4-0 runs before King scored six straight points to take a 22-8 lead as the Tornado took the set 25-10.
Second Set
- Jackson Carroll tried to get the Tornado some separation in the second set as his kill started a 3-0 run.
- Marcano capped the run and gave King a 6-4 lead with an ace.
- The teams then traded blows until the Tornado scored the final six points of the set.
- Kim started the run with a kill before back-to-back Marcano terminations.
- Kim and Carroll finished the 25-18 King win with consecutive kills.
Third Set
- Kim and Marcano team up for four kills, leading King to a 4-1 lead in the third set.
- Constan Tolentino posted a pair of kills, as did Marcano on a 4-0 run that put King ahead 13-7.
- King later scored three straight points to take a 20-11 lead as the Tornado went on to take the set 25-14 and the match 3-0.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Deppe handed out 42 assists and added 13 digs.
- Kim and Marcano paced the offense with 14 kills apiece.
- Noah Melendez led the defense with 14 digs.
FOR THE FOES
- M.J. Doyle led Lees-McRae with seven kills and four digs.
- Riley Chapman handed out 16 assists and added five digs.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- The 42 assists for Deppe ranks second in program history for assists in a three set match.

- The two teams will meet again on Thursday night in a Conference Carolinas Men's Volleyball Championship First Round match in Bristol. First serve is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
