Former Tornado, Floyd to play in NBA Summer League with Lakers

BRISTOL, Tenn. – Former King University men's basketball player Jordan Floyd has signed to play in the NBA Summer League with the Los Angeles Lakers. The A few teams are playing games this week prior to the Summer League schedule that runs August 8-17.

Floyd had a standout career at King, becoming the school's all-time leading scorer prior to graduating in 2020. Last season, Floyd played for Orlandina Basket in Italy's Serie A2. Floyd led the league in scoring, averaging 23.7 points per game. In 30 games, Floyd shot 50.4 percent from the field, 34.1 percent from three-point range and 82.5 percent from the free throw line. He also averaged 5.3 assists and 2.8 rebounds per game.

He becomes the first Tornado to play in the NBA Summer League. The Summer League will be held in Las Vegas from August 8-17 with the Lakers playing a pair of games before that. All games will appear on NBA TV or ESPN2. Three of the four games for the Lakers will appear on ESPN2.
