HARROGATE, Tenn. – The King University men's basketball team faced the first road test of the season, traveling to sixth-ranked Lincoln Memorial University. The Railsplitters turned in a solid shooting performance, taking the contest 119-72.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Half
- A basket from Jordan Akal and triple from Brandon Lamberth pulled King within 10-7 three minutes into the contest.
- However, scored nine straight points before a Kenny Turner layup cut the King deficit to 19-9.
- Michael Mays connected from long range, cutting the Lincoln Memorial lead to 25-18 eight minutes into the half, but the Railsplitters extended their lead again.
- Lincoln Memorial scored the next five points and eight of the next 10 points, stretching their lead to 33-20.
- The Railsplitters used a 12-1 run to extend their lead to 50-29 before a Lamberth fastbreak layup got the Tornado back on the board.
- Lincoln Memorial scored the final points of the half, taking a 64-39 lead into halftime.
- The Railsplitters shot 72.2 percent in the first half, including 53.3 percent from three-point range.
- On the other end, King shot 40.5 percent from the floor and 28.6 percent from long range.
Second Half
- Lincoln Memorial gradually extended their lead in the second half until a 12-0 run in the middle of the frame to extend their advantage to 99-59.
- The hot-shooting continued in the second half for Lincoln Memorial as the Railsplitters shot 68.8 percent from the floor and 52.2 percent from three-point range in the second half.
- Their defense held the Tornado under 40 percent in the second half, taking the contest 119-72.

- Mays led King with 13 points while Lamberth followed with 11 points.

- Turner grabbed five rebounds and handed out three assists, both team-highs.

- Me'kel Burries led six Lincoln Memorial scorers in double figures with 16 points while Matthew Sells followed with 14 points.
- Martez Brown grabbed 13 rebounds while Chase Rankin handed out 11 assists.
