BRISTOL, Tenn. –
Kenny Turner of the King University men's basketball team has been named the Conference Carolinas Defensive Player of the Week.
A sophomore from Coral Springs, Fla., Turner averaged three blocks and 1.5 steals per game, along with 10.5 rebounds. In an overtime victory over Erskine, Turner has 14 total rebounds, 10 of which were defensive.
He also had three blocked shots and a steal against Erskine. Sunday against Lander, he again had three blocks, along with two steals and seven rebounds, all of which were defensive.
Turner also posted solid numbers on the offensive end, averaging 14.5 points per game, including a 17-point performance against Erskine that was his first career double-double.
The Tornado are back in action on Wednesday when they travel to take on Conference Carolinas rival Lees-McRae. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
