Trinity Lee recorded her first double-double of the season Wednesday night as the King University women's basketball team pulled out a thrilling overtime win over North Greenville University, 79-75.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Period
- North Greenville won the opening tip, and just four seconds later they were on the board.
- After a bucket by Brianna Dunbar, the Crusaders scored five unanswered points before Madison Worley hit a free throw to cut the lead to 7-3.
- King added a pair of points with 2:54 to play when Caroline Harville knocked down a pair of free throws, making it a 10-5 lead.
- The Crusaders scored the final four points of the half to take a 14-5 lead.
Second Period
- King dominated the opening minute of the second quarter, with Lee hitting a free throw and Desiree Bates grabbing an offensive rebound and knocking down a three, cutting the lead to 14-9.
- North Greenville was able to extend the lead to 12 points with 2:53 to play in the half before King went on a 9-3 run to make it a 32-27 North Greenville lead heading into the half.
- During that run, Bates hit a layup, while Dunbar and Ryleigh Fritz both hit layups.
Third Period
- North Greenville knocked down a three in the opening seconds of the third quarter to take a 35-27 lead before Lee hit a jumper to make it a six-point advantage.
- The Tornado were able to keep the score close, getting to within two with 5:18 to play when Bates hit a layup to make it a 42-40 game. Harville would add a jumper a short time later to tie the game at 42.
- After a pair of buckets for the Crusaders, Jhayda McKinney hit a step back three to give King their first lead of the game, 47-46 with 2:15 left.
- Dunbar would hit a layup in the closing seconds to give King a 49-48 lead heading into the fourth.
Fourth Period
- McKinney picked up right where the Tornado left off in the fourth, hitting a deep three in the opening minute to extend the King lead to 52-48.
- The Crusaders retook the lead with 6:44 to play, stretching it to a 56-52 lead 30 seconds later.
- Dunbar hit a three to get the Tornado back to within one, setting up a frantic final four minutes that saw three lead changes, with Dunbar delivering another three to give the Tornado a 64-62 lead with 1:27 remaining.
- After a layup by the Crusaders, King was unable to score the game-winning bucket on their final possession, sending the game to overtime tied at 64.
Overtime
- North Greenville took an early lead in overtime, and held it until 1:32 remaining, when Dunbar hit a free throw to even the game at 73.
- King would take the lead with 51 seconds to play when Lee hit a pair of free throws to give King a 75-73 advantage.
- Fritz hit a couple of free throws with 24 seconds remaining before the Crusaders hit a layup to make it 77-75 in favor of the Tornado with 15 seconds to play.
- After a pair of timeouts, Fritz would draw a foul and knock down one of the free throws to give King a 78-75 lead.
- The Crusaders were unable to convert a game-tying basket in the closing seconds, giving King a big win.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Dunbar led the Tornado with 20 points, while Fritz had 17.
- Lee finished with 11 points and 11 rebounds, leading King in rebounding. She also dished out four assists, tying her with Harville.
FOR THE FOES
- Tolisha Walker recorded a double-double of her own, scoring 25 points and pulling 12 rebounds. Haylee Luttrell finished with 17 points, while Abi Oates and Jykya Bell both had 10.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- This was Lee's first double-double of the season, and the fifth of her career.
- King has now won seven straight against the Crusaders, and 17 of the last 18.
UP NEXT
- King has a stiff test ahead of them on Saturday, as they host eighth-ranked Barton College at 2 p.m.
- North Greenville returns home Saturday to host Chowan University.
