Caroline Harville pulled a career-high 10 rebounds, while
Trinity Lee scored 26 points to lead the King University women's basketball team to a thrilling 94-87 overtime win over Francis Marion University.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Period
- The game started slow for both teams, with the first King bucket being a Brianna Dunbar three with 7:54 left in the opening quarter, giving King a 3-1 lead.
- The Patriots opened up a 12-7 lead at the halfway mark, but Jada Campbell drilled a triple of her own with 3:12 left, setting up Lee to hit a pair of free throws, tying the game.
- Francis Marion would finish the game on an 8-4 run to lead 20-16.
Second Period
- The teams traded buckets early in the quarter, before Francis Marion opened up a 26-18 lead.
- Madee Denton hit a deep three, cutting the lead in half with 7:23 to play.
- Jhayda McKinney evened things up two minutes later with a triple of her own.
- After matching buckets with the visitors, King took the lead with 1:35 left when Lee nailed a step back three, giving the Tornado a 35-32 lead.
- King finished the half on a 5-4 run to take a 37-36 lead into the locker room.
Third Period
- Neither team was able to gain an advantage in the third quarter until the Tornado scored five unanswered points to take a 47-41 lead.
- The Patriots then went on a 9-0 run to take a 50-47 lead before Fritz nailed a layup, drew the foul and converted the free throw to even the score.
- Lee then hit a layup, giving King a 52-50 lead with just under five minutes to go.
- The Tornado finished on a 10-7 run, with Dunbar hitting a pair of free throws with under half a second left to give King a 60-57 lead.
Fourth Period
- After Francis Marion took a narrow lead early, Jaden Potts made a jumper to put King in front 64-63 before Harville extended the lead with a layup a short time later.
- The lead was 69-65 in favor of King when the Patriots kicked off what would end up being an 8-0 run to take a 73-69 advantage.
- Francis Marion maintained a slight lead in the final minutes, leading 77-73 with a minute to go before Fritz scored the final four points, including a pair of free throws with 17 seconds to go to send the game to overtime.
Overtime
- After trading buckets in the first half of overtime, King started to pull away with 3:10 left, when Dunbar hit a layup to give King a lead.
- A clutch three tied the game for the Patriots with 2:30 to play, with Francis Marion taking a lead a short time later.
- King retook the lead for the final time with 1:29 to play when Lee drilled a big three, allowing King to score the final eight points of the game, coming away with a massive win.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Lee had 26 points to lead all scorers, along with six rebounds and a pair of assists.
- Dunbar finished with 19 points, while Fritz had 18 points.
- Harville had a career night, scoring eight points and pulling a career-high 10 rebounds while dishing four assists.
FOR THE FOES
- Lauryn Taylor scored 21 points to lead the Patriots, with Scarlett Gilmore (18), Jada Richards (12) and Zaria Woods (11) also scoring in double figures.
- Taylor ended up with a double-double, as she pulled 10 rebounds as well. Woods finished with nine rebounds, falling just short of a double-double.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- This is the first win for King over the Patriots, in a series that as freshly renewed this year with Francis Marion entering the Conference Carolinas.
