MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. – The King University men's wrestling team won the first three bouts of the afternoon, but were unable to pick up a win, as the University of Mount Olive pulled away for a 31-12 victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Elijah Hicks started the dual with a 6-4 decision over Lens Mathurin.
- Franky Medina won his match at 133 pounds 8-3 to extend the lead to 6-0.
- At 141 pounds, no. 6 Christian Small picked up another win, this one an 8-3 decision over Spencer Leonhardt.
- The Trojans would pick up bonus point wins in each of the next three matches, including falls at 157 and 165 pounds.
- Dallin Ewart stopped the Trojan win streak at 14 pounds, winning a narrow 3-1 decision over Dimitri Niami to make the team score 16-12.
- That would end up being the final win of the day for King, as the final three bouts all went to Mount Olive, with a pair of major decisions and a fall at 197 pounds.
UP NEXT
- The Tornado return to the Student Center Wednesday to host a triangular match with Queens University and Bluefield State College. The action starts at 5:30 p.m., when they face Queens. After the Royals and Big Blue wrestle at 7 p.m., King will face Bluefield State to round out the night.
- The Trojans will remain in Conference Carolinas action, hosting Newberry College and UNC Pembroke Wednesday evening.
