SUMTER, S.C. – Two King University men's tennis players were selected to play in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Southeast Regional over the weekend. Both
Alex Sodre and
Rhys Halcrow won matches at the event over the weekend.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- In singles play, Halcrow won his first match of the weekend, defeating Nicholas Cary of Belmont Abbey College 5-7, 7-5, 6-3.
- He then fell to Wingate University's Federico Spinetta 6-4, 7-6 (7-5).
- In the consolation bracket, he defeated Laurenz Grabia of Newberry College 7-5, 1-6, 10-5 before falling to Israel Rojas of the University of Mount Olive 6-2, 6-2 in the round of 32.
- Sodre dropped his opening match to Andrea Sandrone of Columbus State University 6-4, 6-3.
- He then advanced in the consolation bracket on a walkover before falling to Paul Dekester of Catawba College 6-3, 7-5 in the round of 32.
- In doubles play, Halcrow and Sodre fell to Merlin Bellett and Enzo Marcheschi of Converse University 8-6.
UP NEXT
- The Tornado are scheduled to play their first dual of the fall on October 9 against UVA Wise at home at 1:00 p.m.
