Tornado Esports update: November 10

BRISTOL, Tenn. -- The season is well underway for the King University Esports teams. Here is a look at the latest news from the Tornado.

  • King Valorant needs to win their final match next Tuesday at 8:00 p.m. to qualify for playoffs.
2023 ECAC Rivals Overwatch 2 League
  1. Huntingdon College OW 7-0

UPCOMING
  • King Overwatch won a close 3-2 match on Wednesday against Wilson College and have locked a spot in the playoffs for this fall with the ECAC.
  • A win in the final week of competition would guarantee them top for in the postseason.
2023 NACE Varsity Premier Rocket League – East 9 Conference
  • King Rocket League defeated CRL team Brewton-Parker in the NACE conference finals 3-2 to win a NACE Premier Conference Championship.
  • They faced fourth ranked Akron University in the first round of playoffs and had an opportunity to put it away in overtime to win 4-2, but Akron clawed their way back and took the series 4-3.
2023 CCA Rocket League
  • In the first week of the four week series the Tornado defeated Cumberland University to advance to day two.
  • They lost two extremely close matches 3-2 to Stockton University and the Indiana Hoosiers.
  • In week two they lost to the eventual champions, Indian River State College.
  • In week three King gained their footing and posted a solid third place finish to win $1100.
  • Their only loss in week three was to eventual champions Algonquin College.
  • As King built momentum, they rolled into the final week of competition where they would meet and defeat Algonquin College to take first place and win $1500.
2023 NACE Open Division Call of Duty East 2B Conference | Platinum II
  • King University Call of Duty has finished their regular NACE Open season 8-0.
  • On Wednesday the Tornado (8-0) defeated Wright State College (7-1) in a nail-biting 3-2 win.
  • The Tornado went up early 2-0 in the best of five, but Wright State took the next two matches.
  • The final match was decided by a 6-2 search and destroy win in favor of King.
  • The Tornado are in a great position for this year's postseason.
