Missed opportunities cost Tornado at RV Nova Southeastern

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The King University softball team dropped a pair of contests at Nova Southeastern University on Saturday. The Sharks, who are receiving votes in the NFCA poll, took game one 6-0 before winning game two 7-0.

KING HIGHLIGHTS GAME ONE HIGHLIGHTS
  • Campbell started the day with a leadoff single, but was stranded on first.
  • Erin Foster drew a leadoff walk to start the second, but again was stranded.
  • In the third, Campbell led off with a single, but was stranded again.
  • The Sharks also left one runner stranded in each of the first two innings before breaking through in the third.

  • Foster was hit by a pitch to start the fourth inning for the Tornado, but was caught stealing as the Sharks got out of the inning.
  • Nova Southeastern extended their lead to 4-0 on a Madison Fine two-out, three-run double in the fifth inning.
  • The Tornado deficit grew to 6-0 following a Watkins run-scoring double and Drogemueller RBI single in the sixth inning.
  • Million started the seventh inning with a single, but the Sharks got the next three outs to take the contest 6-0.
