BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University men's volleyball team won their Conference Carolinas matchup over Barton College Friday night, 3-0.
Warren Davis led the Tornado attack with 18 kills, while
Jack Sarnowski had 40 set assists.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Set
- King took an early 5-2 lead, with Jackson Carroll getting a pair of kills.
- The Tornado would then score five consecutive points to take a 10-3 advantage.
- After a pair of Barton points, the Tornado stretched the lead to 12-5 on kills by Carroll and AJ Drooker.
- The lead would grow to 21-14 before the Tornado took four of the final five points of the set to win 25-15, with Davis ending the set on a kill.
Second Set
- The Bulldogs took an early 3-1 lead, but the Tornado would come storming back, taking a 4-3 lead before extending it to8-5.
- After a Barton kill, the Tornado would score four in a row, including a pair of blocks to take a 12-6 advantage.
- King continued to grow their lead, going ahead 17-9 before going to set point, up 24-14.
- Barton would score on a King service error, but the Tornado closed the set on a Kellan Kennedy kill, winning 25-15.
Third Set
- Barton controlled the set early, using four consecutive points to take a 13-7 lead.
- After getting to within 15-9, the Tornado started their comeback, scoring four in a row to pull to within 15-13.
- The Bulldogs would eventually go to set point, leading 24-22 before a Davis kill and a combined block by Kennedy and Davis tied the set at 24.
- Barton would take a 25-24 lead before King scored the final three points, with Davis and Carroll both recording kills to win the set 27-25, and the match 3-0.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Davis finished with 18 kills, marking the seventh consecutive match that he has recorded 10+ kills.
- Kennedy added eight kills, along with five block assists and a solo block.
- Justin Sawyer had 12 digs on the night, with Carroll adding 10.
- Sarnowski finished with 40 set assists.
FOR THE FOES
- Jake Adams led the Bulldogs attack with 11 kills on five digs and a solo block.
- John Coffey had seven digs, with Bryan Medellin contributing five.
- Seth Deppe finished with 31 set assists.
