ATHENS, W.Va. – The King University softball team won their seventh straight game on Tuesday afternoon at Concord University.
Madison Walter tossed a no hitter in King's 6-0 game one win while the Tornado hit three home runs taking game two 5-2.

KING HIGHLIGHTS
- Haylee Dye drove in a pair of runs, and scored twice on two hits in game one. She then posted a hit and two walks in game two.
- Lauren Lawson scored a pair of runs in game two and drove in one in each game. One of those hits was a home run in game two.
- Peyton Day posted three hits on the day and drove in two.
- Jessica Campbell posted two hits, including a home run and drove in two.
- Maggie Deel laced her second home run of the season in game two.
GAME ONE HIGHLIGHTS
- The Tornado went down in order in the first before Walter worked around a two-out walk in the bottom half of the inning.
- Walter then retired 15 straight batters until an error with two outs in the bottom of the sixth inning.
- Dye came up with a one-out single in the second and stole second before scoring on a Day single, giving King a 1-0 lead.
- King broke the game open with five runs in the sixth inning. Dye laced a two-run double and Camryn Haag ripped a two-run single in the inning.
- Lawson gave King a 6-0 lead with a single to left field that scored Day.
- The Mountain Lions got another base runner on a hit by pitch in the seventh, but that was it as Walter got a strikeout to give King the 6-0 win and the sixth no hitter in program history.

GAME TWO HIGHLIGHTS
- Both teams threatened in the first inning, but each were able to escape leaving the game scoreless.
- Concord struck first in the second inning as Lorelai Ellerby laced a two-run home run to put the Mountain Lions on top.
- The Mountain Lions then loaded the bases, but Savana Luper came in and got back-to-back strikeouts to end the inning and keep the King deficit at 2-0.
- Just as in game one, it was Day that got the Tornado on the board as she singled to center, scoring Carly Turner in the second inning.
- Deel then evened the score in the third inning, ripping a leadoff home run.
- Two batters later, Lawson gave King a 3-2 lead with another home run.
- The Mountain Lions put runners on second and third in the bottom of the inning, but Luper again got a strikeout to end the threat.
- Campbell gave King a pair of insurance runs in the sixth inning with a two-run home run that scored Lawson who singled earlier in the inning and gave King a 5-2 lead.
- Luper then struck out the side in the seventh, giving King the 5-2 victory.

- Kylee Stacy led Concord with two hits on the day while Ellerby drove in a pair for the Mountain Lions.
- Morgan Gleason scored one run for Concord.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Walter tosses the sixth no hitter in program history, and second that was seven innings. The last no hitter came last year, a combined no hitter for Nikole Counts and Haley Mullins in five innings against Converse University.
- The only other seven inning no hitter came on February 17, 2012 as Hannah Light didn't allow a hit to Emory & Henry College.
- Luper set a career-high with 12 strikeouts in five and two-thirds innings.
