Raven Addison scored 13 points, while
Le'Aije Ellington had 11 points to lead the King University women's basketball team to a 62-53 win over Conference Carolinas foe Erskine College Wednesday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Period
- The Flying Fleet jumped out to an early 10-4 lead with just over five minutes to go, a lead that King quickly trimmed, as Ashley Allen hit a layup before Morgan Bone hit a three to make it a 10-9 game.
- Allen would add a free throw a short time later, tying the score. Ellington then hit a fastbreak three to put King in front 13-10 with 2:10 remaining.
- Addison would hit a pair of threes in the closing minute of the quarter, handing King a 19-13 lead.
Second Period
- Addison stayed hot to start the quarter, hitting a three-pointer just 50 seconds into the quarter.
- After Erskine went on a scoring run to close the lead to 22-20, Alexa Gramann hit a jumper, followed two minutes later by Alayna Smith hitting a layup to make it a six point game.
- The Flying Fleet were able to get to within one point at 26-25 with 2:35 to play, but Kiley Beach would hit a jumper with 1:13 to play, giving King a 28-25 lead heading into the locker room.
Third Period
- Erskine hit two threes coming out of halftime to take a 31-28 lead.
- The Flying Fleet would hold the lead until 1:47 to play when Addison hit a jumper to out the Tornado in front, 41-40.
- The Tornado and Flying Fleet would trade layups and free throws in the closing minutes, with Erskine getting a layup with 16 seconds left to go in front 44-43.
Fourth Period
- The Tornado would score the first seven points of the quarter, with Jaden Potts nailing a triple and a jump shot and Allen hitting a fastbreak jumper.
- A pair of free throws from Beach gave King a brief 55-45 lead, which would be their largest lead of the game.
- Erskine got to within 59-53 with 40 seconds to play, but the Tornado would hit three of their four free throws in the closing minute to hold on for a 62-53 victory.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Addison's 13 points is a new career high, besting her previous best from Monday's game.
- Ellington finished with 11 points, going a perfect 4-for-4 from the free throw line.
- Allen led the Tornado in rebounding with 13.
FOR THE FOES
- Anzya Cook led all scorers, scoring 18 points, the lone Erskine player to score in double figures.
- Shanece Mitchell had six points on nine rebounds for the Flying Fleet.
