SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The King University women's soccer team fell 2-0 Tuesday afternoon to Conference Carolinas foe Converse in the first of three matches this week for the Tornado.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Teeghan Harris took the first shot of the day in the second minute, which was blocked by a Valkyries defender.
- Olivia Seston made her first save of the match in the ninth minute, though in the 22nd minute Converse broke through, scoring off a corner kick to take a 1-0 lead.
- The Tornado started to pressure the Converse defense late in the half, as Ariana Gallegos had a shot on goal in the 36th minute, while Rachel Radow had one in the 39th minute, but neither was able to get past the goalkeeper.
- Coming out of halftime, Seston made a pair of saves in the first five minutes.
- The Valkyries scored their second goal in the 78th minute, stretching their lead to 2-0.
- Gallegos took another shot on goal in the 86th minute, which would turn out to be the final offensive push for King.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Gallegos led the Tornado attack with two shots on goal, while Gretchen Grambow, Ella Froehlich and Radow all had one shot on goal.
- Seston finished the match with seven saves, six of which came in the second half.
FOR THE FOES
- Skylar Lund and Shelby McCutchen both scored for Converse, with Jasmine Hernandez and Lily Lyman both recording assists.
- Gabriella Gudeman made five saves in goal.
