BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University softball team swept their nonconference doubleheader Friday afternoon, winning game one 7-3 before taking game two from Mars Hill University 5-1.

KING HIGHLIGHTS
- Lilly Million hit a home run in game one, finishing the day 2-for-5, with a pair of RBI and three walks.
- Tinsley Thompson went 4-for-6 at the plate, with a walk and three runs scored.
- Haylee Dye drove in three runs on the day.
GAME ONE HIGHLIGHTS
- King got on the board in the second, when Alyssa Suits led off by reaching on a dropped fly ball, eventually scoring on an RBI sacrifice bunt from Gracelyn Rice.
- The Lions added one of their own in the third, but in the bottom of the frame Million hit a home run to center field, scoring Thompson and putting King in front 3-1.
- Suits led off the fourth with a single, scoring when Tori Ryan hit a double to left-center field to stretch the lead.
- Suits added an RBI in the fifth, singling to score Thompson to make the score 5-1 in favor of the Tornado.
- In the bottom of the sixth, Dye singled through the left side, scoring Jessica Campbell and Bradlie Warner, stretching it to a 7-1 lead.
- Mars Hill scored twice in the seventh, but Savana Luper was able to induce a ground ball to end the game.

GAME TWO HIGHLIGHTS
- The Tornado loaded the bases in the first, but were unable to push a run across.
- King scored their first two runs in the third, with Dye leading off with a triple, scoring when Ryan singled to left field.
- Ryan would score on a fielding error by Mars Hill, stretching the lead to 2-0.
- The Lions scored one in the top of the fourth before King added two more in the bottom of the frame when Dye doubled to right center field, scoring Suits and Thompson.
- Suits continued her afternoon in the fifth with an RBI sacrifice fly that scored Campbell and extended the lead to 5-1.
- The Lions got a baserunner in each of the final two innings, but the King defense was able to hold them off the board, picking up the win and their first sweep of the season.

- Katie Todd and Micki Maxson both hit doubles for Mars Hill, with Maxson picking up a total of two hits on the day.
- Todd scored a pair of runs in game one, recording a pair of hits in the contest.
