DUE WEST, S.C. – The King University men's volleyball team dropped their Conference Carolinas matchup Saturday afternoon, 3-0 to Erksine College.
Warren Davis led the way with eight kills, while
Kellan Kennedy had five blocks.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Set
- Erskine took an early 6-1 lead, with a Davis kill accounting for the Tornado point.
- A couple of service errors, along with a Sean Haberthy kill brought King back to within 8-4.
- The Flying Fleet would then go on a 12-4 scoring run, taking a 20-8 lead before Kolten Soon and Davis had kills.
- Erskine scored the final four points to take the set 25-10.
Second Set
- King jumped out to an early 3-1 lead on a pair of errors and a kill by Zach Daniels.
- The Flying Fleet worked their way back, taking a 10-8 lead before scoring seven straight points, stretching the lead to 17-8.
- After the Tornado pulled to within 19-11, the Flying Fleet would score the next three points before King added two more to make the score 22-13.
- The teams would alternate points, with Soon and Haberthy recording a combined block, but the Flying Fleet won the set, 25-15.
Third Set
- Erskine started the set by taking a 9-7 lead before three straight King points put them in front, 10-9.
- The Tornado would take another lead at 18-17 after a kill by Davis and a block by Kennedy and Aiden Olson.
- The Flying Fleet had set point at 24-23, but King fought off two match points, with a Davis kill and a service error keeping the Tornado alive.
- Erskine took the final two points, winning 27-25 and taking the match 3-0.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Davis finished with eight kills, with Haberthy adding five and Soon recording four.
- Kennedy had a total of five blocks, while Olson and Haberthy each had two.
- Olson handed out 13 set assists.
FOR THE FOES
- Edgerrin Austin led all players with 13 kills, with Kacper Rybarczyk and Wiktor Ankurowski each adding nine.
- Francisco Pomar handed out 32 assists on the afternoon.
UP NEXT
- King will start a three-match homestand on Saturday when they host Belmont Abbey College. First serve is set for 7 p.m.
- Erskine will play at the University of Mount Olive on Friday.
