DUNCAN, S.C. – The King University softball team split their Conference Carolinas doubleheader Tuesday afternoon at Converse, falling 5-4 in game one before winning 11-2 in five innings in game two.

KING HIGHLIGHTS
GAME ONE HIGHLIGHTS
- Converse led 5-0 heading into the top of the seventh, where the Tornado scored four runs on three hits.
- The Tornado had runners on first and third with two outs when Thompson hit a three-run home run to center field, allowing Haylee Dye and Rachel Jardim to score, cutting the lead to 5-3.
- Aviah Bunsic then doubled, with Alyssa Suits, Tori Ryan and Savana Luper drawing walks, with Luper picking up an RBI that made it a 5-4 score.
- The inning, and the game, would come to an end on a strikeout, with the Valkyries narrowly holding on for a 5-4 win.

GAME TWO HIGHLIGHTS
- King got started right away, scoring six runs in the top of the first.
- Avaiah Bunsic doubled to score Tinsley Thompson, before Alyssa Suits stepped up to the plate and hit a three-run home run to put the Tornado in front 4-0.
- The lead grew a few batters later as Bradlie Warner singled up the middle, scoring Rachel Jardim and Tori Ryan to stretch the lead to 6-0.
- After the Valkyries scored a run in the first, King added another in the second when Bunsic singled, scoring Million to make it a 7-1 lead.
- Converse then homered in the bottom of the second, with Thompson hitting a two-run home run in the third, extending the lead to 9-2.
- King wasn't done though, as in the fourth Warner picked up another RBI single, with Ryan scoring to put the Tornado in front 10-2.
- King added a insurance run in the fifth, as Suits tripled to right field, allowing Bunsic to score, putting King ahead 11-2, which would be the final score as the Valkyries left the bases loaded in the fifth.
