EMORY, Va. – The King University softball team closed their regular season Sunday with a doubleheader split at Emory & Henry College, taking the first game 14-10 before falling 12-4 in game two.

KING HIGHLIGHTS
GAME ONE HIGHLIGHTS
- King took a first inning lead when Tori Ryan grounded out, allowing Dye to score.
- The Wasps responded with four in their half of the first, taking a 4-1 lead.
- The Tornado scored four of their own in the second, with Caitlyn Bishop picking up an RBI on a groundout before Dye hit her home run, a two-run shot to tie the score at four.
- Thompson also had her home run in the inning, going deep a short time later to put King in front 5-4.
- Suits went deep in the third, making it a 6-4 lead, though the Wasps were able to tie the game in their half of the inning.
- The Tornado had a big fourth inning, scoring seven runs. Lilly Million, Ryan, Aviah Bunsic, Suits, Bishop, Rachel Jardim and Dye all had RBI in the inning, making it a 13-6 Tornado lead.
- King scored a insurance run in the seventh on a Bunsic sacrifice fly that drove in Thompson, then were able to hold off a late rally, with the Wasps pulling to within 14-10 before turning a double play to end the game.

GAME TWO HIGHLIGHTS
- The Tornado struck first, with Suits and Jardim both recording RBI in the first inning, with Suits' coming on a single to right field.
- The Wasps then took a 5-2 lead after the second, including a three-run home run.
- In the top of the third, Staley Vaught singled to right field, scoring Bunsic to make it a 5-3 game.
- Emory & Henry responded with another three-run home run, extending their lead to 8-3.
- King picked up a run in the fourth when Bunsic hit into a double play, which allowed BRadlie Warner to score, making it an 8-4 lead.
- The Wasps scored the next four runs, winning 12-4.

- Danielle King, Desi Norris, Amy Meister and Kenzie Ingo all had home runs for the Wasps.
