Goldsboro, N.C. – The King University baseball concluded a series with Barton on Saturday afternoon, falling 9-6.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- King scored first as Joe Amunategui III hit a single to score Michael Starrs, who had reached on a single of the middle.
- Amunategui scored later on in the first inning as Hyatt put the ball in play with bases loaded.
- Barton responded with a run in the bottom of the first.
- The Bulldogs added three with a home run in the bottom of the fifth to take a 4-2 lead.
- Barton added a run in the sixth inning before King retook the lead in the top of the seventh. Jose Ruiz on a Levi Medford sacrifice fly. In the next at bat, Joe Uribe hit a home run to left center to tally 3 RBIs and put the Tornado back up top.
- Barton took the lead again in the bottom of the seventh to bring the score to 7-6. They extended it to a three run lead in the bottom of eighth.
KING HIGHLIGHTS
- Jose Ruiz went 3-4 on the day, scoring once and had a stolen base. Joe Amunategui III went 2 for 5 including a double and scoring once.
- Joe Uribe hit a home run for his only hit of the day, tallying 3 RBI. Michael Starrs scored twice, including on the Uribe home run.
