JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. – The King University softball team opened up the Big Region Preseason Invitational with two games on Saturday. The Tornado defeated Emory & Henry 2-1 before falling to UVA Wise 3-2.

HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME ONE
- King started the scoring in the bottom of the third with Jessica Campbell's double driving in Bradlie Warner.
- The Tornado added another run in the sixth as Campbell scored on a Katie Ryan sacrifice fly to right field.
- The Wasps scored in the top of the seventh but King secured the win with a play at the plate.

HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME TWO
- UVA Wise struck first scoring once in the fourth and once in the fifth.
- Alena Demakas hit a single through the left side to start the bottom of the sixth. Jessica Campbell hit a home run in the next at-bat to tie the game.
- The Cavaliers scored once more in the top of the seventh. The Tornado had bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh, but were unable to push in the tying run.

The King University softball team will be back in action tomorrow for the second day of the Big Region Preseason Invitational in Johnson City for two games. First pitch for game one is scheduled for 11 am and the second game is scheduled to begin at 1:30 pm.
