Athens, W.V. The King University Softball team went to Concord for a round-robin tournament against Concord University and Lock Haven University, falling in both games. Falling to Concord 8-7 and Lock Haven 3-0.

Game One:
Â
In the first game, King got off to a hot start, scoring two runs in the top of the first inning by
Giana Winge and
Yuleesa Kennedy. In the second inning, they were able to extend the lead by three more as
Katie Ryan,
Imari Golden, and Winge all crossed home plate.
Â
Concord would be able to score one run in the bottom of the second inning to put the lead for King at 5-1. The next two innings saw no runs scored until the bottom of the fifth, when Concord would score six runs.

King would bounce back and tie it up at the top of the seventh inning, 7-7. Concord would win in a walk-off double in the bottom of the seventh and would win 8-7.

Savana Luper and
Sophia Waters pitched for King with five and three strikeouts, respectively, facing a total of 30 batters.

Aubrey King had a great game with batting, hitting a triple and a double on four at-bats with three RBIs.
Aviah Bunsic added two RBIs as well for King with her one hit on the day.

Game Two:
Â
Heading into game two, King was looking to pick up a win for the day. With a strong pitching battle from both King and Lock Haven, the teams only let up ten total hits. Lock Haven would score one run in the second, third, and fourth innings. In the top of the fourth inning, King had the bases loaded with one out, but couldn't get anyone home.

The game would finish in a 3-0 loss for King, with no one scoring in the fifth, sixth, and seventh innings, with strong defenses.

On the offside, Luper and Kennedy both did well, with a double in the game.
Grace Shary had the other hit for King in the game.
