Box Score 2 Banner Elk, N.C. – The King University Men's and Women's Tennis teams traveled to Banner Elk, North Carolina, on Friday for a Conference Carolinas matchup with Lees-McRae College. The Tornado men fell 4-3 in a closely contested match, while the women dropped a 7-0 decision.
Men:
Lees-McRae earned the early advantage by claiming the doubles point, winning two of three matches. At No. 1 doubles, the King duo of
Lucas Machado and
Danny Neleman fell 6-3 to Issac Yang and Hudson Hoskins. The Bobcats also picked up a 6-0 victory at No. 2 doubles, where Tenzin Dorji and Marco Laguna defeated Rohan Chalisaonkar and
Beckham Sylvester.
Ben Jones and
Bar Meshel competed at the No. 3 position but dropped a 6-1 decision to Lorenzo Ferrer Maza and Henry Austin.
In the singles play, the Tornado battled back and picked up three victories.
Beckham Sylvester earned a win at No. 4 singles, defeating Henry Austin in straight sets.
Ben Jones also secured a point for King at No. 6 singles, taking a three-set victory over Lorenzo Ferrer Maza.
Danny Neleman fell 3-0 to Issac Yang at No. 1 singles, while
Bar Meshel dropped a three-set match to Tenzin Dorji at the No. 2 spot. Marco Laguna defeated
Lucas Machado 3-0 at No. 3 singles, and Hudson Hoskins earned a 2-0 win over
Rohan Chalisgaonkar at No. 5.

Trinity Moore dropped a close 7-5 decision to Alexa Mazzei and Pati Sanchez. The Bobcats clinched the point at No. 2 doubles, where Lina Saqout and Caroline Brothers defeated Ruth Robinson and
Rani Malhoe 6-4.
At the No. 3 position,
Shellby Tranchita and
Lilly Belcher battled but fell 7-5 to Lily Smith and Kylie Childers.
In singles play, Lees-McRae claimed all six matches to complete the sweep.
Deniz Aytun competed at No. 1 singles and forced a decisive match tiebreak after winning the opening set 6-0. Lina Saqout responded by taking the second set in a tiebreak, securing the match with a 10-4 win in the match tiebreak.
Rani Malhoe fell 6-1, 6-0 to Pati Sanchez at No.2 singles, while Alexa Mazzei earned a 6-3, 6-0 win over
Shellby Tranchita at the No. 3 spot.
Trinity Moore was defeated 6-0, 6-3 by Caroline Brothers at No. 4 singles. At No. 5 singles, Kylie Childers posted a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Ruth Robinson. Lily Smith completed the singles sweep for the Bobcats with a 6-3, 6-4 win over
Sarah Hale at the No. 6 position.
