Bristol, Tenn. – The King University softball team hosted UVA-Wise on Friday for a nonconference doubleheader at the King Softball Field. Despite competitive stretches and strong defensive moments, the Tornado were held scoreless across both games, falling 7–0 in the opener and 1–0 in a tightly contested nightcap.
Game One: UVA-Wise 7, King 0
Game one featured early pitching duels before the Cavaliers broke through in the middle innings.
Game Summary
After two scoreless frames, UVA-Wise struck first in the third. Lindsey Polan drove in the opening run with a single to center, and Savannah Johnson followed with an RBI double to left, giving the Cavaliers a 2–0 advantage.
The fourth inning proved decisive. Taylor Noe doubled home two runs, and Johnson added a two-RBI single moments later, stretching the lead to 6–0. UVA-Wise added one more in the seventh on a wild pitch.
King produced four hits but couldn't string together a rally against UVA-Wise starter Angelina Branch, who tossed a complete-game shutout.

King threatened early with a walk from Kaylie Hughes and later a single from Bradlie Warner, but UVA-Wise pitcher Olivia Shockley allowed just two hits in a complete-game shutout.
