King Falls to Coker on the Road in Final Regular Season Meet

The Tornado dropped a road meet to Coker on Thursday evening, falling 251.945 to 237.020

Hartsville, S.C. – The King University Acrobatics & Tumbling team dropped a road meet to Coker on Thursday evening, falling 251.945 to 237.020. Despite a competitive first half, Coker pulled away after the break to secure the win. King moves to 4-4 on the season.

King opened the meet in the Compulsory event, posting a 35.60. The Tornado recorded scores of 8.65 in the Acro Heat, 9.40 in Pyramid, 9.40 in Toss, and 8.15 in Tumbling. Coker held a slight edge after the event, leading 36.80 to 35.60.

In the Acro event, King totaled 27.05 points. They earned a 9.20 in the 5-Element heat, followed by an 8.60 in the 6-Element heat, and a 9.25 in the 7-Element heat. Coker extended its lead with a 28.15.

The Tornado responded with a solid showing in Pyramid, finishing with a 27.80. King scored a 9.05 in the Inversion heat, 8.85 in the Synchronized heat, and a strong 9.90 in the Open heat. However, Coker narrowly took the event with a 28.60. At the half, King trailed 93.55 to 90.45.

Coming out of the break, King posted a 25.55 in the Toss event. They scored 8.60 in the 450 Salto, 8.30 in the Synchronized heat, and 8.65 in the Open heat. Coker continued to build their advantage with a 26.85.

In Tumbling, King totaled 49.000. Highlights included a 9.600 in the Aerial pass and an 8.950 in the Open pass. Coker maintained control in the event, scoring 52.425.
Heading into the Team event, King looked to close the gap but finished with a 72.02, while Coker sealed the meet with a 79.12.

Coker outscored King in both halves, taking a 93.55 to 90.45 lead into halftime and pulling away in the second half to secure the 251.945 to 237.020 victory.
