Murfreesboro, Tenn.- The King University women's soccer team opened the 2026 season with a hard-fought 3-2 loss to Christian Brothers University on Saturday, August 29, in Murfreesboro, Tenn.
King took an early lead, with
Ella Froehlich and
Allie Chase each scoring to put the Tornado up at halftime. Froehlich netted her first goal of the season in the first half, while Chase found the back of the net after the break, assisted by
Vodi Mangal. However, Christian Brothers responded with three second-half goals to rally for the win.
King managed seven shots in the match, four of which were on target. Goalkeeper
Susan Schaaf made seven saves, keeping the Tornado in contention throughout the contest. Christian Brothers held a 19-7 advantage in shots and out-cornered King 5-3 on set pieces.
