Bristol, Tenn. – The King University women's soccer team continued its strong play at Parks Field on Tuesday night, earning a 2-1 non-conference victory over Mars Hill University. The win marks the Tornado's second consecutive home triumph and improves King's record to 2-2 on the season.

Mars Hill was first to strike when Leah Krugh converted a scoring opportunity in the 15th minute off an assist from Madelyn Yost, giving the Lions a 1-0 lead.

The Tornado answered just before halftime. In the 44th minute, Eylin Granados found the back of the net after a setup from Ella Froehlich, pulling King even at 1-1 heading into the break.

King maintained the pressure throughout the second half and eventually broke through in the 82nd minute. Mia Van Groningen Dack scored the match-winner to put the Tornado ahead 2-1. The King defense held firm over the final minutes, while goalkeeper Susan Schaaf made eight saves to secure the victory.

Both teams finished with 14 shots, but King held a slight edge in shots on goal, placing 10 attempts on frame compared to Mars Hill's nine.
